Well, I guess you can’t really call my job a “grind” in any way, shape or form. I get to hang out with kids all day and babble with them in Spanish, which is a pretty sweet deal — to my mind, at least. Today was an odd day because one of our preschool teachers was out sick, so every moment that I wasn’t teaching Spanish, I was subbing in that classroom. I don’t get to spend much time with four-year-olds any more, so today was actually a treat. It was nice to have kids sitting on my lap and holding my hand, since mine think they are too big for that these days!
Also, I got to wear a giant sombrero as part of a presentation on the Mexican Rodeo. Teaching in a sombrero: FUN.
Also FUN: catching up with my co-workers after break.
FUN from last night: trying to figure out how to do the yoga routine on the Wii Fit. I am still not sure if the Wii Fit is a brilliant and helpful invention, or perhaps a tool of the devil. The Wii approved of my Warrior pose and Sun Salutations, but mocked me when I tried to play the game where you hit virtual soccer balls with your head. This only confirms my suspicion that yoga is the only physical discipline that I can hope to be even minimally competent at.
Tonight — more yoga, maybe not the Wii, though. We shall see. I will have to consider what the most FUN yoga practice would be, and act accordingly.
Am liking my New Year’s resolution, if you can’t tell.

It’s from the Devil I tell you!

Yes, I am a master at Wii yoga, but awful at everything else, especially those soccer balls. Have you tried the skiing?! I am so bad at that.
I can see that you are keeping up with your New Year’s resolution! Well done, YogaMum.

Hi yogamum, I’m one of your lurkers…
FUN is a great resolution! Wii sounds like a lot of fun, but I haven’t seen one here on this side of the pond. I think this weekend will be spent at a friend’s place in the mountains, which will be fun fun fun, except when the hosts feel their oats and suggest that we go hiking after breakfast in the brrrrr cold.
I’d rather stay inside doing a Wii hike by the fire!

I still maintain my ‘tool of the Devil’ position, and tune in to BodyInBalance TV instead.

Hey, you can wear your giant sombrero when you play the Wii game where you hit virtual soccer balls with your head!

Hi yogamum, just wanted to say hi outside the WOYOPRACMO frame, thanks for creating it though, I am having so much fun connecting with other yogis, I think I’m sleep deprived I am all happy and giddy.. this is weird.

Wii yoga seems very “devilish” to me as well. When it kept saying my center wasn’t correct in standing half moon, I said “Boo” and stopped playing.
There’s enough negative thoughts in my head to have it be included during my yoga practice, ya know?
