I’ll be driving to Phoenix later today with the kids and of course I’m a little conflicted (understatement of the year!!), but going back to Colorado is the sensible thing to do right now. I was worried about how Mom was going to manage Dad’s care without me, because she can’t get him in and out of the chair or the bed whereas I am freakishly strong and have no problem supporting a 150-pound man. Before I had a chance to worry too much, my great-aunt and uncle decided to drive down from western Colorado and they will be able to stay and help until my aunt (my dad’s sister) comes next week. It is so amazing how the Universe provides.
Dad quote of the day: “Sometimes even a brain tumor needs to take a nap.”
Now I have to pack and organize and say my goodbyes, and try not to worry about trivial things like airport lines and delayed flights. In the meantime, I suggest you click over to a wonderful post by SusieJ on one of the unexpected benefits of doing yoga.

Happy Traveling. Wish is was a happier trip… although you will look back on this as treasured time. I love your Dad’s quote. Maybe the turmor will listen and lighten up a bit and give him a break.

Your Dad’s illness sure puts waiting in line in perspective – glad it was a good visit for everyone! Safe travels home.
For some reason, the title of this post keeps making me laugh.
