WyrdByrd, sensing that I needed some holiday cheer, tagged me for this Christmas meme!
What are your three favorite Christmas songs and who sings them?
Baby, It’s Cold Outside — Dean Martin’s is the classic version, but I heard an awesome rendition by Savage Henry on a Denver radio station last week.
Frosty the Snowman — Harry Connick, Jr. Thanks to the wonders of GarageBand, this is now the ringtone on my phone!
Silent Night — I don’t care who sings it, I just love the calm and serenity of the carol. It lulls me into the holiday spirit.
What are your three favorite Christmas foods?
Fudge with nuts, fudge without nuts, and eggnog chai lattes.
What are three Christmas Secrets?
1. I suck at gift-wrapping.
2. I hate rolling and cutting out sugar cookies.
3. I didn’t believe in Santa when I was a little kid.
What are your three favorite Christmas movies?

So, WyrdByrd, I see your meme and raise you one: Consider yourself tagged on my Grinch Meme from last year (click on the link to see my answers). The questions are:
What is your least favorite holiday task? (e.g. shopping, cooking, wrapping)
What was the worst gift you ever received?
Who is the hardest person in your family to shop for?
What relative do you dread seeing at the holidays? Or, when you were a child, what relative did you dread seeing?
What holiday tradition would you eliminate if you could?
What do you swear, every holiday season, that you’ll never do again, only to find yourself doing it again the next year?
Let’s see, who else can I tag? Lisa, because she’s so literary; Charlotte, because she’s the least Grinchy person I can think of; Cranky Housefrau, because she’s not so cranky; and Wayne, because he never fails to cheer me up with his comments. You can do either the first meme, the Grinch meme, or both!

“Fudge with nuts, fudge without nuts, and eggnog chai lattes.”?? Thought you were going to go with “fudge lattes” there…
Thanks for the tag – I’m not a very celebratory person by nature so this will take some thought. (Maybe I should change my name to “cranky Wayne”).

And I thought fudge was a year-round treat!
Thanks for the tag – will have to give this one some thought.

Aha. This must be a sign that it’s time for me to get into the spirit of things. Point of clarification though — which meme are we tagged to do?

Xmas songs never did a whole lot for me until I encountered Low’s Christmas e.p. which is quite marvelous (if you like Low). Apart from that Slade song of course – Noddy Holder was one of the great unsung vocalists of British rock,
Hope Friday is as positive and joyful a day as can be under the circumstances if that isn’t too intrusive.

Wayne — not celebratory? Really?
Charlotte — take your time!
Either meme, or both, Lisa! Whatever floats your boat!
URD — You are, once again, way too hip for me
And thank you for the well-wishes!
